Frequently Asked Questions

Battery life is determined, in part, by the rate and the range settings you select. The rate setting determines how frequently the signal is transmitted (fast, medium or slow.) The range setting is the distance the signal radiates from the transmitter. See the Owner’s Guide for additional information.

When set at maximum range, the life of the battery charge is approximately:

  • 4 days in ‘Fast’
  • 7 days in ‘Medium’ /
  • 30 days in ‘Slow’

Decreasing the range setting will increase the average battery life between charges.

Wireless Transmitters:

  • IB-200 can be adjusted up to a maximum of 10 feet in diameter (5 feet in all directions from the transmitter.)
  • IB-100 can be adjusted up to a maximum of 8 feet in diameter (4 feet in all directions from the transmitter)

With Wire:

When using the boundary wire, you can customize the size of your avoidance zone(s) based on:

  • The length of the wire
  • The signal range
  • The distance between the separated wires (separated = signal is transmitted; twisted together = no signal).

See the Owner’s Guide for additional information.
